Joao Rodrigues is no stranger to the horse community, coming from three generations of horsemen, including his grandfather, and father Zeze. As he was growing up in Brazil, it was Joao’s father who began focusing his efforts solely on the Arabian horse, and the Rodrigues family established a successful training and breeding farm. Joao got his start in the Performance world before he found a new passion – the beauty of the Arabian Halter Horse. His performance background gave him invaluable horsemanship skills, which have transferred over to his Halter career. After moving from Brazil to America, Joao worked and gained experience at many well known farms, including Lucy Whittier, Ventura Farms, and Midwest Station 1. However, it is Joao’s passion for the Arabian breed that makes him a standout in the training arena, Joao believes it is the following mind frame that has made his training center such a success – “Experience, liability, work ethic, marketing skills and horsemanship. When I bring a horse to a show I want my client to have a sense of pride. I cannot control the results but I can control how good the horse will look and that is a satisfaction I take seriously. I can guarantee the client will be proud of their horse, the horse is going to be well trained, well conditioned and show with a good attitude.” Joao has proven this mantra time and time again both in and out of the show ring. In addition, he and his wife, Annette Rodrigues, have created a beautiful and friendly atmosphere for both clients and horses alike.
Rodrigues Training Center is a full service training and marketing center for Arabian and Half-Arabian horses located in the beautiful Scottsdale, AZ.
